Hello there, adventurers! Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Today we’ll chat about some menu updates, an adorable new cupcake, and everything else we found on our latest park walk. Let’s get started.
Animal Kingdom Food Update
Africa
At Africa’s Dawa Bar, we noticed a new specialty drink called Harambe Iced Tea. This drink consists of Don Q Rum, Snow Leopard Vodka, New Amsterdam Gin, Vanderhum Orange Liqueur, and orange juice, topped with Sprite.
You can try the Harambe Iced Tea for $13.58!
Asia
When we stopped by Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe, we saw that Sweet and Sour Tempura Shrimp has replaced the Korean BBQ Rib Tips on the printed menu, but the Rib Tips are still being offered as a Chef’s Specialty.
The Sweet and Sour Tempura Shrimp was previously a Chef’s Specialty item before officially being officially added to the printed menu.
DinoLand U.S.A.
We found a few menu updates over at DinoLand’s Restaurantosaurus Lounge as well. Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts are no longer on the menu, and Tiger Lager has replaced the Safari Lager.
Restaurantosaurus recently introduced a new burgers and sundaes dinner experience — check out our full review here!
Discovery Island
In Creature Comforts, we spotted a new and totally adorable Zebra Cupcake!
This cupcake features marbled yellow cake, white frosting, and decorative drizzles of black frosting. Unfortunately, this cutie didn’t stay cute for very long because its features started melting really quickly. ?
Despite its melted appearance, the Zebra Cupcake was still super yummy! You can grab it from either Creature Comforts or Restaurantosaurus for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
Discovery Island
The merchandise cart between Flame Tree Barbecue and The Feeding Ground had a new-to-us UP-inspired Grape Soda tank for $34.99.
It reminded us a bit of the Grape Soda shirt we spotted at the same merchandise cart a few weeks ago — you can take a look at it here!
Speaking of UP, Kevin was out and about during our visit and we had to snap a quick photo of him before we left! (She’s just adorable, isn’t she?)

We are here at Disney World right now eating our way through all four parks with all of your helpful tips and videos! I’ve followed your blog for over two years! We were at Galaxys Edge at 6:15 am yesterday and it was great! Had drinks and food at Olga’s Cantantina before the reservations began with extra magic hours! Got our photos with Dark Vadar as well! Food and Wine festival was amazing! We loved the booths in Japan and Thailand the Best! Mexico was a close second. We don’t drink alcohol. Staying at Pop Century and leaving on the 16th! Still have two more days in the parks! We also recommend the Lobster Sandwich in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom! Comes on a grilled bun! So yummy! Thanks for all the videos guys!!! Loving it!!!
In Animal Kingdom we had a Thai chicken wrap in Asia that was very good and we loved the Festival of the Lion King! Got our photos with Pocahontas as well! Got soaked on the Kali river rapids but it was so fun! At Starbucks I got a coffee and they also gave me a huge Venti ice water for my mom for free! So nice! The atmosphere in Animal Kingdom was amazing! So many street performers, dancers, musicians, and artists! We are going back again on Saturday to do a few things we missed! The safari was so cool! So some Lions, and baby gariffis up close! We had eaten at the Rain Forest Cafe before which was wonderful so we didn’t go this time. The Pandora ride was excellent too, but you will need a fast pass for sure! Thanks so much for all of your tips guys! The blog is the best!
Beth G., thanks for the message! We’re so happy you’re having a great trip!
