While many guests prefer to prepay for their meals by purchasing a Disney Dining Plan (or better yet, scoring free dining!), others enjoy having more flexibility when it comes to what and where they’ll be eating on their Disney World vacation.
But today, Disney has just rolled out a FOURTH Disney Dining Plan option! It’s called Disney Dining Plan Plus, and it might just offer folks who want to pay for their food ahead of time without feeling “locked-in” to their selections the BEST of BOTH worlds!
Depending on which level of the Disney Dining Plan you buy into, you’re allocated a certain number of credits per day to use on meals and snacks.
The Quick Service Dining Plan, which is also the least expensive package, includes 2 quick service meal credits and 2 snack credits. Meanwhile, the Disney Standard Dining Plan offers 1 quick service meal, 1 table service meal, and 2 snack credits per day, and the most-expensive Disney Deluxe Dining Plan entitles guests to 3 meals per day (quick service or table service) and 2 snack credits per day.
What Disney Dining Plan Plus Includes
And now there’s the Disney Dining Plan Plus which includes 2 meal credits to use any way you like along with 2 snack credits per day! That means you can enjoy dining at any combination of quick service or table service restaurants, much like the Deluxe option!
But with this flexibility in mind, it is important to note that it is still recommended that you book your table service reservations in advance. So, you will likely still be making some pretty big dining decisions weeks, maybe even months in advance.
When You Can Book Disney Dining Plan Plus
The NEW Disney Dining Plan Plus opened today, February 27th, 2020, and can be used as early as February 28th, 2020!
As with Disney’s other DDPs, credits can roll over and gratuity is not already factored into the cost of your meal, so you’ll still have to tip your servers! And remember — only guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort are eligible to book a Disney Dining Plan.
Since this new Disney Dining Plan Plus that isn’t as restrictive as a Quick Service or Standard Disney Dining Plan but isn’t as over-the-top as the Deluxe Dining Plan, we expect it will be a popular new option to have! This is basically a choose-your-own-adventure of Disney Dining Plans, allowing you to be free from many of the constrictions we normally associate with these Disney Dining Plans.
But like all of the Disney Dining Plans, you’ll still be eating A LOT of chow! Remember — some of items you can use one of your snack credits on can basically double as a meal — like these GIANT Bubble Waffles from AristoCrêpes! And since you get 2 snack credits with every single DDP to help fill in the gaps between meals, to put it frankly, you’re gonna be STUFFED!
Does This Option Include Refillable Mugs?
And don’t worry about refillable mugs, people! Just like the other DDPs, the new Disney Dining Plan Plus also comes with an unlimited drink cup you can refill back at your resort to your heart’s content!
Disney Dining Plan Plus Pricing
The price of the Disney Dining Plan Plus is $94.61 (per night) for adults (ages 10 and up) and $35.01 (per night) for children (ages 3-9) including tax. This puts is right between the Disney Standard Dining Plan and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan in terms of price.
For example, here’s a price comparison for a family of four with two children (ages 13 and 16). This includes a stay at Port Orleans and a 5-day base ticket (no park hopper).
We still have some lingering questions about the new Disney Dining Plan Plus (including if it will be offered as part of free dining!) so stay tuned for updates about this exciting new option!
