If you follow us over on Instagram, you may remember we recently asked the trivia question: Which Disney park has the MOST attractions?

We received over 30,000 replies, and as it turns out, over 20,000 (20,098 to be exact) got the trivia question WRONG! 

Followers had to choose between the two options of either Disneyland Park or Magic Kingdom for which one they thought had more attractions. The correct answer…is Disneyland!

Disney’s websites list a total of 41 rides and attractions at Magic Kingdom, whereas Disneyland Park has a total of 55 rides and attractions! That’s roughly a third more than Magic Kingdom.

There are a lot of “overlapping” attractions at both parks, including Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, “it’s a small world,” and more.

But Disneyland has a slew of unique attractions, including Indiana Jones Adventure, Matterhorn, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Snow White’s Scary Adventure, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, just to name a few.

Don’t forget that attractions include classics like Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, all of the houses in Mickey’s Toontown, Main Street Cinema, as well as the walkthrough attraction inside Sleeping Beauty Castle!

Disneyland Park is definitely small, but it’s mighty. It even GREW in 2019 with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, adding two attractions to its list (Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run).

When you dig into it, you’ll find that Magic Kingdom is actually the SMALLEST Disney World park at approximately 107 acres. A lot of our Instagram followers also thought that Magic Kingdom is bigger than it actually is!

There’s no doubt that BOTH of these parks sure know how to pack rides and attractions into their relatively small footprint. But how does Disneyland have MORE rides and attractions than Magic Kingdom?

If you’ve walked around Disneyland Park, you might notice that it’s “tighter” than Magic Kingdom. As Walt himself put it, Florida gave the company the blessing of size, which meant wider walkways and more elbow room in between rides. At Disneyland, those rides are CRAMMED in there (think about all of the classic dark rides shoved into Fantasyland!).

In the coming years, BOTH of these parks will add to their total attraction count, with TRON Lightcycle Run coming to Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom in 2021 and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway coming to Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park in 2023!
