Today we’re rounding up our favorite food hacks to help you make already amazing treats even better!!
We recently shared that Lamplight Lounge on Disney California Adventure Park’s Pixar Pier began taking reservations for an all-new brunch service. And this weekend saw the first brunch service in this eclectic spot! Let’s see how this fabulous restaurant is charming guests for brunch!
Lamplight Lounge’s Brunch Menu is created in the same artistic style as the table service restaurant’s lunch and dinner menus. [Read more…]
celebrates Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and it’s ON today! And what would a Disneyland party be without a few churros? If you want to try ’em all, you’ll find the Celebration Mickey Chocolate Churro at the churro cart near it’s a small world.
This is a chocolate-dusted churro drizzled with chocolate sauce and sporadically decorated with Mickey’s favorite colored sprinkles: red, yellow, white, and black! [Read more…]
Sometimes the only way to make a Disney food even better than the original is to make it mini. We submit mini Mickey Waffles as irrefutable evidence.
And now Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland Resort’s Frontierland is providing another piece of proof for this theory.
Ready to see our favorite new “mini” option in Disneyland?!? Here they are!
is an Indiana Jones-style snack spot where guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can pick up funnel cakes, cold drinks, and floats. We love the design of the kiosk, with its industrial details and aged signs.
And right now, there’s a totally indulgent funnel cake on the menu that you’re definitely gonna want to add to your how-much-sugar-can-I-eat-on-vacation list (we’re not the only ones with one of those, right?): Cookies & Cream Funnel Cake!
One of the great, simple joys of visiting the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is grabbing a Mickey Pretzel in the shadow of Cinderella Castle. And not just because Mickey Pretzels come with a container of cheese (although that’s also idyllic). It’s just such a sweet moment.
Churros! Cookies and Cream! Chocolate Sauce!
Now that we have your attention, we really think you need to know that Tortuga Tavern in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland is now serving Cookies ‘n Cream Churros!
Tortuga Tavern is a seasonally open spot, but even with a limited run — and, quite often, a limited menu — they can still churn out some surprises. Now that Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe has taken over the Mexican food offerings that used to be available at Tortuga Tavern before its brief turn as a BBQ spot, the Tavern now features selections like Turkey Legs and Hot Dogs, which you can also find at other locations in the park.
But the Cookies ‘n Cream Churros? These are all-new, and can only be found at Tortuga Tavern!
That’s right! Tortuga Tavern has traded Cookies ‘n Cream Gelato for Cookies ‘n Cream Churros!
Your serving of warm, chocolatey, churro goodness is actually a plate of eight mini churros (similar in serving style to the Churros you’ll find at Pecos Bill’s). They come with a pre-packaged container of chocolate sauce, in case you need even more chocolate.
Which, of course, YOU TOTALLY DO.
The cream comes in the center of the churro bites, and it makes them a bit more dense in the center than your typical Churro. But the chocolate and cream flavor is terrific (straight up Oreo, really), and the outside texture still offers that slightly crunchy churro crisp.
We aren’t sure how long guests can expect to see these on the menu, since the one thing constant at Tortuga Tavern is change. But — just like the other parks — Magic Kingdom is getting ready for the Holiday crowds, so hopefully these will stick around for the duration of the season!
What’s your favorite iteration of the Churro? Tell us about it so we can crave them even more than usual!
First off, if you have yet to see Disney’s Zootopia, get out there and do it! My whole family loved the movie. It’s fun for all ages including temperamental, too cool for school tweens and teenagers. Secondly, if you love bananas, we hope you got over to California Adventure’s Award Wieners to celebrate the movie with a Banana Corn Dog.
Located in DCA’s Hollywood Land, Award Wieners is a counter service hot dog spot currently offering (today is the last day!) the specialty Banana Corn Dog in honor of Zootopia’s release.
The Banana Corn Dog is actually two small banana corn dogs. My guess is that they prepare it this way because a whole banana might get too mushy when fried and wouldn’t hold its shape. The bananas are dipped in Corn and Honey Batter, fried, and topped with Powdered Sugar. Two dipping sauces are served with the banana corn dogs: Red “Pawpsicle” Raspberry Sauce and Chocolate Sauce.
