Disney is helping us get into the holiday spirit with a recipe for House-Made Horchata.
Hot chocolate, eggnog, apple cider — we all have our favorite Christmastime drink!
But, have you ever had horchata?! Filled with flavors like cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla, the milk and rice-based beverage is a delicious treat that’s irresistible! And, the holidays in Disney California Adventure are off to a great start with a dessert inspired by the seasonal drink!
It’s time to celebrate Día de los Muertos at Disneyland!
Dia De Los Muertos Decor at Rancho Del Zocalo
We’ve been sharing with you all the spooky Halloween treats to materialize in Disneyland throughout the day, including the wicked Maleficent Churro, the Blood Orange Slush, and SO MUCH MORE! Let’s check out some of the Dia de los Muertos inspired treats at Disneyland this Halloween season!

It’s time to see what Disneyland’s Rancho del Zocalo has stirred up for the Get Your Ears On celebration that’s in full swing at Disneyland Resort! Our Disneyland correspondent Heather (hola, @DiningInDisney) was all over this one: Frozen Strawberry Horchata. Sounds refreshing, right?
This is a delicious sweet drink that, while a lovely shade of pink, really didn’t carry a lot of strawberry flavor, Heather reports. [Read more…]

‘s Rancho del Zocalo is a terrific quick service spot to grab southwest-inspired eats like Zocalo Nachos and tacos of all kinds.
We love the vibe here, and the eats have been seriously good over the years. The breakfast they served here for a while was truly delicious. (Sadly it’s gone away!)

, La Cava del Tequila… what’s a trip around World Showcase without walking inside your doors?
Well, we’re back, and we’re here to celebrate a very special birthday…La Cava del Tequila just turned five years old! For a place that’s still relatively new (in Disney World terms, anyway), it sure has earned its place on the absolute MUST list ever since opening its doors in August 2009.
We’re celebrating this special occasion with a few of my favorite things (cue the song!) and branching out with a few sips I’d never tried before.
As the saying goes, it may be “5 o’clock somewhere,” but we’re just happy when it’s 12 o’clock at La Cava del Tequila!
Is it noon yet 😉 ? Then let’s step in!
Small and cozy (and often crowded due to its well-deserved reputation), there’s still plenty for the eye to take in. Obviously, the tequila gets the spotlight – both figuratively and literally!
When you first walk in, [Read more…]

We’ve got a review of a slightly under-the-radar spot in Disney World’s Downtown Disney today!
So far, you’ve heard about both breakfast, lunch and fun beverage options at Pollo Campero, but I haven’t ever posted my own personal review! It’s about time, don’t you think?
Join me for a visit to the Latin-inspired chicken restaurant that provides an interesting change of pace for Downtown Disney Guests!
Located in what used to be the cavernous McDonald’s at the end of Downtown Disney’s Marketplace, counter-service location Pollo Campero shares space with two other foodstops: Bodie’s All-American (formerly Fresh A-Peel) and Babycakes NYC. On this visit, we were in the mood for chicken, so Pollo Campero it was.
Once inside, you’ll approach the restaurant like most other counter service stops. Choose your food at the counter, and then proceed to a central bank of registers that’s shared with Bodie’s All-American.
The general set up here is a bit “food-courtish,” but it does [Read more…]

Thanks again to Leigh Caldwell of Theme Park Mom for this great review of the new beverage bar at Orlando’s Downtown Disney Pollo Campero.
A new bar has opened at Downtown Disney as part of the renovations at the former McDonald’s on the edge of the Marketplace area.
It offers beverage menus from both Pollo Campero, a chicken restaurant with Latin flair, and Fresh A-peel, which brings some new [Read more…]
