It’s MARDI GRAS time, baby!
And, we’re celebrating New Orleans style with this party in Disney Springs (anybody want to tag along and rock some beads with us??).
Today is the very first day of the 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival! Now through June 3, 2019, Epcot guests can enjoy gorgeous Disney-themed topiaries, specialty tours, extra family fun, and the Garden Rocks Concert Series, to name a few of the extra activities blooming all over the park in celebration of Spring.
But the main highlight for us are the Outdoor Kitchens — better known as Food Booths — serving enhanced food and beverage offerings with a focus on the fresh-from-the-garden flavors of Spring.
An unprecedented 17 Outdoor Kitchens set the culinary scene this year — PLUS additional Festival offerings at various locations around the park. And our goal today is to bring you all of the items you CAN’T MISS when you visit the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival this year!

It’s time to take another trip around the World, from Downtown Disney to EPCOT… and we’ll be visiting all sorts of Disney Resorts along the way! Strap in, folks, because there’s always something to find when you’re searching for What’s New at Disney World with the DFB!
The name of the game all over Downtown Disney these days continues to be, of course, construction for the transformation into Disney Springs. Here are a few recent shots of what will be The Boathouse restaurant, which seems to be coming along nicely.
On the West Side, The Smokehouse has introduced a new item: Smokehouse Nachos!
The Nachos can be customized with [Read more…]

We’ve got updates this go ’round from several corners of Disney World, ranging from a few small menu changes to big construction projects. But we’re starting with something that is popping up all over no matter where in the World you are: Easter treats! Please join us for another trip to see What’s New!
From bunny ears to Easter Eggs, we’ve just got to give you a few glances at the Easter snacks popping (or hopping!) up absolutely everywhere around Disney World.
These particular goodies were spotted in the Main Street Confectionery, but similarly-themed sweets can be found through the Easter holiday at locations such as Big Top Treats, Sweet Spells, Goofy’s Candy Co. and the Candy Cauldron.
And you’ll find this White Chocolate Raspberry bunny-ear cupcake at Quick Service locations all over Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
The Lemon Blueberry Cupcake at BoardWalk Bakery has received a spring holiday makeover, too!
We can’t resist giving you one more look at one of the gorgeous chocolate eggs in the Annual Easter Egg Display at the Grand Floridian.
These works of art will be on display through April 22nd, and they are worth a special trip to the Grand Floridian if you’re enjoying your Spring Break in Disney World. But if you can’t make it in person, you can check out the full display here.
Progress towards the future Disney Springs continues to move forward in Downtown Disney.
Can you remember when the upcoming location for the West Side Starbucks was both a Wetzel’s Pretzels and a Haagen Dazs Ice Cream store?
Well, their new home is “In Progress,” too! The construction site for the new Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen Dazs location is [Read more…]

It’s time to take another stroll around Disney World and see what’s new and awesome! We’ve got parade pics, Olaf apples, Gaston-themed headwear, and more! Won’t you please join us 🙂 ?
Everything’s coming up “Frozen” at Walt Disney World to celebrate the release of the movie on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Olaf the Snowman has been bestowed a true Disney character honor… He’s now a Candy Apple!
Keep an eye out for him in candy locations like Sweet Spells, Main Street Confectionery, Candy Cauldron, and Goofy’s Candy Company… I’m hoping he’s here for the long haul!
You may also spy some favorite treats in a blue hue for a very limited time, including Mickey Krispy Treats and Marshmallow Wands.
A recent walk around Downtown Disney revealed that the Disney Food Trucks are making their way around. Previously housed primarily between Cirque du Soleil and House of Blues (and occasionally spotted in the grassy area next to Bongos Cuban Cafe), the Food Trucks we’re spotted in new and different places around the West Side.
For instance, the World Showcase of Flavors truck was parked across from Splitsville.
And Fantasy Fare has been spotted over in the Marketplace (this is the spot next to World of Disney where Santa’s Chalet can be found during the holidays).
However, the one thing certain about the Food Trucks is that they are ever-changing 🙂 . And we know something new is coming thanks to these Food Truck Park signs found around Downtown Disney.
What’s to come? Only time will tell!
The first sure sign of spring at Disney World is the Flower & Garden Festival. But a smaller sign is seeing all the things available to stuff your Easter basket at Ghirardelli.
The Starbucks construction site on the Marketplace side is really starting to take shape. You can now see the triangular top peeking out above the walls, matching the “Coming Soon” artwork.
And as new things arrive, we also say [Read more…]

What’s new in your favorite Disney World “chomping grounds”? What’s changed? Read on to find out what we’ve checked out recently!
The biggest change over the past week has been the addition of The Smokehouse to Downtown Disney’s West Side. This stop for all-things-barbeque features a lovely outdoor seating area and the chance to enjoy live music.
Signs of bigger changes to come can be spotted all over Downtown Disney as the area delves into its transformation to Disney Springs … and when I say “signs,” I mean actual signs.
We’ll be sharing more in a future post, but the artwork all over Downtown Disney give us an idea of what guests can look forward to in the future.
A smaller change – yet nearly as significant for fans of “Earl’s” 😉 – is that Earl of Sandwich has added [Read more…]

Last week we let you know that The Smokehouse, a Counter Service location at Downtown Disney’s House of Blues, was “Coming Soon.”
We’re happy to say that now it’s here, bringing BARBEQUE to the good people on the West Side of Downtown Disney! Let’s take a look at this new hangout!
With the addition of The Smokehouse, House of Blues is practically a mini-complex! Everything that was previously part of House of Blues still exists: from Crossroads (the Table Service restaurant) to the box office and performance venue, and the merchandise store.
Coming from Cirque du Soleil, you’ll find Crossroads first on your left. Next comes the outdoor bar and new courtyard for The Smokehouse, then the venue, and finally the box office (tickets) and retail location. The Smokehouse juts out a bit in front of the courtyard.
Amid the assortment of artwork and wonderfully random sculptures in the outside area, The Smokehouse itself is rather simple, yet keeps with the rustic theme and feel of the area with its “tin” structure.
The sign on top tells you everything you need to know!
Guests are welcome to enjoy the ample seating in the courtyard behind the beautiful wrought-iron gates. It’s a great spot in the daytime, but I’m really looking forward to enjoying it in the evening when all the lights shine.
You’ll enjoy a bit more of the cool, unique art that this space [Read more…]
Lots of food news happening at Disney parks and resorts this week!
From new restaurants (like the SmokeHouse at House of Blues in Disney World’s Downtown Disney and the new Spice Road Table in Epcot’s Morocco), to restaurant refreshes (check out Captain’s Grille at Disney World’s Yacht Club Resort), and brand new create-your-own sundae opportunities, we can’t wait for you to dig into the neeeeews!
Of course, there’s more! Check out all the latest Disney Food News — even the stuff we don’t mention in posts on the blog! — on our Disney Food News Pin Board, including dining options at Four Seasons Resort Orlando and restaurant closures!

Love the creativity of DFB Facebook Friend Stephanie! She says, “I just made (and devoured) the Johnny Appleseed’s Cake from Liberty Tree Tavern. Do you like how I even served it in the paper hotel bowls saved from my last stay at Art of Animation? ::sigh:: Now only if I really were there now!” We LOVE it, Stephanie!
Oh. My. Goodness! Facebook Friend Tara sent us this note: “Had this Lemon cupcake last week at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. It was delicious! It definitely makes my top 3. Lemon curd filling in the middle, with a dense, moist lemon cupcake, topped with vanilla buttercream and a drizzle of lemon glaze on top. Awesomeness.” YUM!!!
Thanks for sharing your Disney Food finds with us!
